The traditional economic view of tariffs (in any textbook) is that they are bad long term. I think in a world where printing money is so prevalent and integral to most economies tariffs are actually beneficial long term. Nobody anticipated or understands the world of fiat slavery that exists now. They assume countries are fiscally responsible, when they are nothing close.
