 Update on my mum:

The local hospital is about an hour's drive away, but while the little man was at kindergarten I drove there, just for 30 minutes.

As I feared, she has sepsis. So she's on IV antibiotics now, and is mostly just sleeping. She couldn't really keep her eyes open while I was there, so I just told her about the kids and how they're doing. It's tough to see her so unwell. It brings back memories of my own battles, and just how hard it can be.

She has been so eager to show strength, and to just shrug things off like they're no big deal, to 'man up'. She hasn't really been taking symptoms and warning signs seriously enough. This has been a constant worry, and yet again rightly so.

I didn't realise that I was the first person to visit.
I just assumed my dad had travelled with her in the ambulance, then thought surely he would visit her first thing this morning. But being the autist he is, he already had other things planned.
He is headed in to visit her this afternoon, because he can combine the outing with meeting a friend.

Thank you all for your well wishes and prayers. It means a lot. 🫂

Wishing her a speedy recovery 🫂
It's hard watching parents go through bad health events. My dad had a stroke a little over a year ago and he just isn't the same person now. My mom is so stressed that she's had a few health incidents that could have been worse from ignoring symptoms.

Praying for you, your mom and your family in this hard season.
Oof, sepsis is not fun. It's very good that you visited. It makes a huge difference. 🫂❤️🫂❤️
