any interesting single player story-based games y'all would recommend?
Final Fantasy X remastered
hmm, never played any, curious
It’s the best one imo. A bit of an older game but it stands the test of time.
am i going to lose a lot of context having not played any of the previous ones?
Red Dead Redemption 2.
not the first? haven't played either tbh
RDR 2 is fun and just a good game.
heard it's by Rockstar Games, so my expectation are high already
1800’s. Horses instead of cars. It’s beautiful. Very well made & story is cool.
dude this sounds like a banger
Addictive. I’ve logged my hours. And you can be a complete degenerate as well & question your own humanity at times. I’ve done some things.
excited for it last game i loved like that was the Mafia series
Southpark did an episode on it. RDR2 - the whole town was addicted to the story etc etc. Funny episode.
i can't bring myself to watch south park, feel like i'm losing braincells every single time
Easily God of war
The Batman Arkham series is pretty solid.
Kingdom Hearts ❤️🔥
🤔 never heard of it, what's it like?
The most incredible game(s) you will ever play. You get to meet a bunch of the Disney and Final Fantasy (also a good series) characters as you battle through different worlds trying to keep the balance between light and darkness. https://youtu.be/CzgrMWisdU0?si=ClTYdSy6oAV3L3o1
Celeste Hyperlight Drifter
ooh, platformers 🥰 excited to check those out
Both have quite moving stories and are pretty much fast paced all the way through https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nWufEJ1Ava0
Control
the graphics look beautiful 👀
You'll love this game
2017 Prey
The Witcher, cyberpunk and FF 7 are all great. I also really enjoyed "we happy few" as well.
cyberpunk got a lot of backlash initially during the launch, hope it's good haven't heard too much about the other two the witcher has a tv series too i think?
Imo Cyberpunk is great and the new Phantom Liberty DLC is a good addition. the Witcher was initially a series of books which are also very good if you're looking for a read. The tv series was well done. If you've ever read the book Brave New World, we happy few has very similar vibe to it.
any of the JPRGs from the 90s 🤙
never heard the term JRPG before 🤔
Japanese role-playing games 🤙
oohh, that sounds rather interesting, any specifcs you'd recommend?
for me Final Fantasy is a favorite 🕹️
Fire emblem. Haven’t played it in a long time but the old ones were awesome.
Let me look it up 🤔
It’s for Nintendo, I believe they have ones for the switch but I am unsure. I’ve been stuck on tears of the kingdom. Oldest son deleted all of the data. So trying to re-do everything.
wait you're a dad? 🥹
Yeah. 4 year old and a 3 month old. 4 year old domestic terrorist. 3 month old has no problem turning a grocery store trip into hostage situation.
😂😂😂 and that's them at their best behaviour, eh?
Silent Hill 2 if you haven’t - series were ahead of their time, conceptually imo.
hmm, think i might have heard of it never seen it tho
Worth a spin if you can get a decent rom/emu or original hw, also if you like psychological horror games that drew from literary works like Stephen King, Dean Koontz, Kafka, Dostoyevsky, and others of that kind. Clunky controls tho considering that era lol.
