The US government has cleared the path for electric vertical takeoff and landing (eVTOL) aircraft to share airspace with planes and helicopters. The Federal Aviation Administration's (FAA) final ruling on powered-lift vehicles paves the way for widespread adoption of advanced air mobility (AAM) operations in the future. Joby Aviation, Archer Aviation, Beta Technologies, and Wisk Aero have worked closely with the FAA to develop these new rules for training, operations, and maintenance.
