I tried to get my COVID booster today when I got my flu shot at a locally-owned pharmacy. The pharmacist said their first shipment (of only 50 doses) came in two days ago and went fast due to high demand. 

I went online to book an appointment at a chain store. Neither Walgreens nor CVS pharmacies had any appointments available for the next week!

Is there a shortage that no one is reporting about? Given that the media insinuated there would be low demand for the new booster, I was not expecting to have difficulty getting it.
