 We can safely say the UX is not negatively affected. 

Why the drastic difference? When we used to run through Orbit, it was substantial.

 Using tor since since very far time.. amethyst always worked with orbot

 VPN, certainly not, cause I use frequently and i works. Tor... maybe?  Is that even possible?

 Amethyst uses Tor for relay connections but not for media, which would be unbearable to use under Tor.
