I find it depressing and disillusioning. Not gonna lie.

I'd rather have a bunch of honest, striving, for-profit companies, fighting for market share, than this non-profit centralization that destroys all market forces in the space and wears down the developer ethos by giving everyone only one, indifferent paying customer.
It's Soviet software.
