This is a pretty wild data point; single women vote Democrats by a 37-point margin https://cdn.nostr.build/i/f3026f28fdee7d45e0cb43bf3358ca4516ef53848b7608c3d6212a87e9c1c28b.jpg
Interesting. I am curious if getting married causes a shift right or if there is self-selection going on where the more right leaning females are getting married leaving singles as a more left leaning demographic. Or perhaps it’s age related: younger people tend to be more idealistic (naive?) and start off unmarried but over time both things tend to naturally shift (but are not necessarily causally linked, just correlated). Would be interesting to control for some variables and see what that reveals.
I can’t find the screenshot right now but the left leaning women skew highly educated, ie they spent longer periods of time at University. The longer they spend there, the more pervasive leftists ideas become, the more entrenched a voter base they become. Abortion is a big topic for that cohort and it practically defines the politics for many of these women, they’re essentially single issue despite the fact they then gobble up viewpoints and ideology from the left side of politics, those topics pale compared to abortion which they treat as some hybrid of healthcare and self-autonomy. US politics is to a large degree being held captive by feminists who want to abort unwanted pregnancies.
It’s is not enough for Biden to win.
